Fatigue Mechanism of Asphalt Mixture With An Interlayer Under Combined Effect of Multiple Factors
Reviewer's feedback:
This manuscript presents an experimental study analyzing the effects of various environmental and mechanical loading factors on the fatigue life of asphalt mixtures with interlayers. The topic is pertinent; however, the manuscript requires significant revisions before it can be considered for presentation. The manuscript in its current form is not suitable for consideration for a journal publication. The following specific comments and suggestions are provided to assist the authors in improving the manuscript:
1. It is strongly recommended that the authors revise the manuscript's structure to include a concise abstract and a comprehensive introduction section. If the authors prefer to maintain the original format, it is essential to remove content unrelated to the "Research Aim" from the first paragraph.
2. In the "Research Aim" section, five factors, immersion, freezing and thawing, vehicle load, and vehicle speed, are mentioned. Subsequently, the grey correlation theory is applied to analyze four factors. The authors should clarify which four factors were investigated using this theory and provide a rationale for their selection.
3. The manuscript suggests that the grey correlation theory was employed to unify the influence of various factors into a comparable metric. Therefore, a detailed explanation of the grey correlation theory would enhance the manuscript's credibility and allow readers to assess the reliability of the conclusions drawn.
4. The content currently presented in the "Conclusion(s)" section appears to be more aligned with discussions and research findings. If the author would like to keep these contents, it is advisable to include relevant figures and tables to support these findings visually. Additionally, a distinct "Conclusions" section should be added at the end of the manuscript to succinctly summarize the key outcomes of the study.
5. The references must be added.
6. The manuscript would benefit from thorough proofreading to enhance its English language quality. Improving grammar, syntax, and overall readability will significantly aid in conveying the study's findings effectively.
Editorial Decision for Conference Proceedings:
The authors are advised to revise the manuscript in line with the comments provided by the reviewers, and follow the paper template to structure their manuscript.
