Reviewer's feedback:

1. The 4PB stiffness values for the surface layer are not sufficiently detailed. Please specify the fatigue life stage, temperature, and loading frequency used in the stiffness determination. Also, clarify how the lab results were adjusted to the design temperature and frequency, given the high sensitivity of modulus to these factors. 


2. The meaning of the fatigue and rutting damage percentages in Figure 2 is unclear. Specify what these values represent and how they were calculated, including the underlying models and failure criteria. 


3. Is it sufficient to consider only fatigue and rutting when introducing a new surface material? Also, the relvant context as to why the responses were evaluated only under the tire center must be presented? Consideration of additional modes and tire edge locations may be necessary for a comprehensive assessment.
