Workability of Asphalt Binder Modified with Waste Groundnut Oil
Reviewer's feedback:
This manuscript presents an experimental study evaluating the workability of asphalt binder modified with water-groundnut oil. The research addresses a pertinent topic in sustainable pavement engineering. However, the authors are advised to consider the suggested revisions to improve the quality of manuscript:
1. It is recommended that the manuscript be reorganized to include the following sections: Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion (Conclusions). Each section should be clearly delineated to enhance readability and coherence. Some sections should elaborate on the outcomes of key aspects, such as test results of penetration, softening point, ductility, and viscosity, supported by appropriate figures or tables. Additionally, a compact list of references should be included to contextualize the study within existing literature.
2. The study utilizes mixing and compaction temperatures as measures of binder workability. It is essential to clarify the methodology employed to determine these temperatures.
3. The manuscript focuses on ground nut oil as a bio-modifier. It would strengthen the study to discuss whether other bio-based modifications were considered and to provide a rationale for selecting ground nut oil over alternatives. By referring to existing literature, advantages and limitations of ground nut oil relative to other bio-modifiers, such as WCO, soybean oil, or palm oil, would provide a more comprehensive understanding of its suitability for asphalt modification.
Editorial Decision for Conference Proceedings:
The authors are advised to revise the manuscript in line with the comments provided by the reviewers, and follow the paper template to structure their manuscript.
