Effect of Gum Arabic on Aging Resistance and Rheological Behaviour of Bitumen

Reviewer's feedback:

"The paper title is ""Effect of Gum Arabic on Aging Resistance and Rheological Behaviour of Bitumen"". However, no aging tests were performed on the binder. As a result, the results are hard to reveal the effects of GA on binder properties. The study on the use of Gum Arabic (GA) as a modifier in bitumen presents a compelling case for enhancing the aging resistance and rheological behaviour of asphalt pavements. The research addresses critical issues such as rapid pavement deterioration due to increasing traffic loads and adverse environmental conditions. By incorporating GA at varying percentages, the study demonstrates significant improvements in aging and rutting resistance, particularly at higher temperatures. The use of empirical tests, FTIR, and DSR methods adds robustness to the findings. However, the description of procedures needs minor clarification. It is essential to ensure that the methodology section clearly outlines each step of the process, including detailed descriptions of how Gum Arabic was incorporated into the bitumen, the specific percentages used, and the conditions under which tests were conducted. This will enhance the reproducibility and transparency of the study.Additionally, the statistical significance of the findings is not stated. Including a section that presents the statistical analysis of the results, such as p-values, confidence intervals, or other relevant statistical measures, would demonstrate the reliability and significance of the findings. This is crucial for validating the study's conclusions. The study also lacks a thorough discussion of its implications and limitations. Expanding on the implications by discussing how the findings could be applied in real-world scenarios would provide a clearer understanding of the study's practical relevance. Moreover, acknowledging any limitations, such as the scope of the tests or potential variability in results under different conditions, would provide a more balanced perspective.Overall, this study offers promising insights for developing more durable and sustainable pavement materials. With minor revisions to clarify procedures, state statistical significance, and discuss implications and limitations, the paper has the potential to advance knowledge in the field significantly. I don't see the point of adding the term “battery electric vehicle” to the title! How would this work have been different if we were dealing with a combustion vehicle? Here, it's more a question of the effect of the road surface. The title needs to be revised! "
