Microwave-Activated Self-Healing of Graphene Oxide Microcapsules in Asphalt Pavements

The paper is unclear and hard to follow. Some specific comments can be found below: 


1. The paper does not specify what materials were studied (e.g. Figure 1 refers to "0% GO") and what tests were carried out. This information should be included in the Experimental program section.


 2. The abstract mentions penetration, softening point and ductility tests, but they are not shown at all in the paper. 


3. The authors comment the FTIR results without providing the FTIR spectrum. Adding the spectrum would enhance the clarity.


 4. The last paragraph of page 3 is unclear and there is no explicit reference to Figure 2. Moreover, the abstract mentions that "The results showed that microcapsules .... remained stable at 120 ~ 180◦C, which indicate that the decomposition temperatures of the microcapsule samples were higher than the mixing temperatures of asphalt". This is not discussed at all in the Results section. In addition, the mixing temperature of asphalt mixtures could be as high as 160-180 °C for hot mix asphalt, 120-140 °C for warm mix asphalt, which could lead to the decomposition of the capsules already in the mixing stage.


 5. Manuscript preparation: Ref. 1 and 2 are not cited in the paper. The acronym UF is introduced on page 3 without providing the full meaning.
