Adaptability of Microcapsules Containing Bio-Based Oil in Bitumen and Its Self-Healing Characteristics

Reviewer's feedback:

The manuscript addresses an interesting topic but suffers from unclear language, insufficient methodological detail, and numerous typographical errors. To improve clarity and rigor, I recommend the following:

  • Totally no Literature reference .Add up-to-date references on microcapsule‐based self-healing asphalt, covering shell materials, bio-based rejuvenators under cyclic loading, and standardized load–rest–load protocols. Improve Figure 1.

  • Provide higher-resolution images, enlarge axis labels and legends, and ensure each subfigure (a–f) is unambiguously defined both in the caption and in the text.

  • Clarify Section 3.2.1.2 (Box–Behnken Design) – Explain whether “29 experiments” refers to 29 distinct sample formulations, 29 test runs, or 29 factor‐level combinations. List the factors, their levels, and the response variables used.

  • Correct Notation in Section 2.2– Change “phase Angle” to “phase angle” (lowercase “angle”). Standardize Capitalization – In “under real traffic conditions,” ensure that “U” is capitalized only if it denotes a previously defined variable otherwise, use standard sentence casing.

  • Detail the Self-Healing Test Method– Describe the equipment, loading magnitude/frequency, rest intervals, temperature control, and criteria for calculating the healing index (HI). A schematic of the test cycle would be especially helpful.

Editorial Decision for Conference Proceedings:

It is recommended that authors follow the template and remove langaute mistakes in the resubmission.
