This paper addresses a timely and important sustainability challenge through a dual environmental and economic analysis of alginate-based self-healing asphalt. The use of LCA (ISO 14044) and LCC over a 30-year period in a Moroccan case study is commendable. However, several weaknesses reduce the overall impact: methodology lacks full transparency (e.g., functional unit, cost assumptions), results are presented without statistical depth, and the writing suffers from minor clarity and formatting issues.
The paper exceeds the 4-page limit and would benefit from concise editing. While promising for presentation at PFDM, it requires substantial enhancement for journal publication consideration.
