Temperature corrections for modulus of asphalt layers considering thickness

Reviewer's feedback:

The hypotheses allowing to back calculate the modulus should be given (type of behaviour considered? values of the rheological constants? ...) The conclusion proposed only apply for the specific studied case and cannot be extended to general case. The interest of the paper is then very limited.

Track Leader’s Comments (if any):

Please note that some of the track leader’s comments are intended as feedback for future improvements

  • The study proposes a new temperature correction model for asphalt layer modulus,

based on in-situ deflection data collected under varying seasonal conditions

  • Page 2 - Why the difference in FWD radial distances between structures 1 & 2, and then structure 3?

  • Modelling method is appropriate for this type of study.

  • The back-calculation process in particular is well described and useful for FWD practice to determine temperature corrections.

  • Little new issues of note in the paper.
