Developing A Numerical Analysis Framework for Bitumen-Aggregate Adhesion Fatigue Damage Accumulation

Reviewer's feedback:

This paper presents a user-defined finite element model to simulate the nonlinear debonding behavior and fatigue damage accumulation at the bitumen–aggregate interface in porous asphalt. By introducing an exponential TSL and validating it through DMA tests, the model showed good agreement with lab results across various loading rates. The study offers a practical and robust approach for improving the accuracy of interface performance prediction under fatigue loading.
