All double-layer porous asphalts are not effective noise-reducing pavements

Many studies have shown that the various advantages of porous pavement are directly related to its porosity. However, this paper only presents the noise reduction performance over different service years without simultaneously measuring changes in porosity. It is possible that poor maintenance led to a reduction in porosity, which in turn compromised the noise-reducing effect. By overlooking this key influencing factor, the conclusions drawn in the paper are less convincing.
