The authors investigated the impact of moisture content in the subgrade on the performance of the asphalt layer. The following suggestions are provided for the authors’ consideration: 


1. The title needs to be modified, as the study focuses on the moisture content in the subgrade rather than the subgrade structure. 


2. The manuscript lacks research data, and many statements are not supported by references. 


3. The study lacks innovation, the conclusions have been known for many years, and without offering any valuable recommendations for engineering practice.


 4. The manuscript does not include a references section.
